My journey towards counseling started many years ago at the age of 15.  I was enrolled in a peer counseling course in high school which was an elective that allowed students to be a type of confidant to their peers in need.  This was my first experience into the counseling world and one that cemented my career goals. I found a passion in hearing others stories, in their resilience and in offering support and guidance.  I had found my calling.  My path was set and I have not once swayed from my goal those many years ago.

I graduated with my Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from The University of Central Florida and continued on to complete my Masters in Counseling with a dual specialization in Mental Health and Marriage and Family Therapy.  I returned to The University of Central Florida while finishing my Masters, to pursue the Play Therapy Certificate program.  I also completed testing to hold the credential of National Certified Counselor. I am currently am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and in the process of finalizing my application to become a Registered Play Therapist.

I have had the honor of working with a variety of individuals that present with various issues and concerns.  I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse and mental health counseling facilities.  Much of my work has been with substance abuse, trauma recovery, depression/anxiety, anger management, child behavioral issues, parenting and family issues.  My heart and passion lies in working with children and teens.  Much of my experience has been geared towards this population, specifically at risk teens. I am known as “the kid person” and am honored to be a part of the stories of the many amazing and resilient children and adolescents that have made their way into my life.

I opened my private practice, Hope Health & Healing Counseling Center LLC,  in February 2014, which continues to challenge and motivate me daily.  My goal is to one day grow in my practice enough so that I will be able to expand and create a safe, supportive and positive play therapy center for children and teens in the Central Florida area.

I have many goals and desires that I hope to implement in my services and practices to assist the community, such as beginning groups for teens, providing consultations for counselors, conducting webinars and training’s and one day, supervision.

I am extremely passionate about helping others, both in my profession and personal life. If I can assist anyone, answer any questions or provide any type of support for you, please feel free to ask.
