The Florida Mental Health Counselor Association is a branch of the national American Mental Health Counselor Association (AMHCA) and is the only organization in the State of Florida dedicated exclusively to meeting the professional needs of Florida’s Licensed Mental Health CounselorsIt’s the leading organization advocating for mental health counseling professionals. Our objective is to provide education, legislative oversight, and networking. Our Annual Conference provides an opportunity for advanced professional training.
We are a nonprofit group working hard to preserve and grow the profession. This is your local group, the chapter which represents the Licensed Mental Health Counselors and future LMHCs in Palm Beach County.
Unite LMHCs by joining or rejoining our membership to serve the needs of counselors in this area. Our chapter follows the efforts of the state organization, Florida Mental Health Counselors Association (FMHCA), and the national organization, American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). The Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES) is the southern region of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). ACES is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA). ACES consists of five regions, with SACES being the largest region. The Space Coast Mental Health Counselors Association (SCMHCA) unites mental health professionals in Central Florida. Our mission is to advance professional competency and strengthen the role of the mental health counselor in the local community. SCMHCA is dedicated to helping psychotherapists in private practice, employed counselors, and counseling students with licensure, continuing education, awareness and participation in the legislative process, and most importantly, enhancing relationships with other professionals. SCMHCA understands that the effect of a collection of people is greater than just one person and we strive to be a synergistic group.
